Synopsis
Camille Rewinds (Camille redouble, 2012) is a French comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Noémie Lvovsky, who also plays the lead. On New Year's Eve, a middle-aged woman named Camille drinks herself into a stupor after her husband announces he's leaving her for someone younger. She wakes up sixteen again — back in 1985, parents alive, school waiting, the whole thing.
Camille knows exactly how the story ends. Eric, the boy she's about to fall for, will spend twenty-five years with her and then walk out. The question the film keeps pressing is whether that knowledge changes anything at all — or whether the pull of youth, of being seen again, of love before it corrodes, is simply too strong to resist. Samir Guesmi, Mathieu Amalric and Jean-Pierre Léaud appear in supporting roles.
What makes this film stick is how honestly it handles nostalgia — not as escape, but as a trap. Camille's dilemma isn't about fixing the past; it's about whether the past was even broken to begin with. Stream Camille Rewinds (2012) online on iFILM.
