Synopsis

Chimpanzee (2012) is a Disneynature documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Across the dense rainforests of the Ivory Coast and Uganda, the camera spent three years tracking a single family of primates, with one curious youngster at the center: a chimp named Oscar.

At first the whole forest is a game to Oscar — he learns to crack nuts, tell which fruit is safe, and stay close to his mother. Then disaster strikes. After a clash with a rival group he is left on his own, and a chimp that young has no real chance alone. What happens next is something you rarely expect from the wild: the troop's leader, a tough adult male named Freddy, takes the orphan under his protection.

Directed by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield — the team behind Earth and African Cats — the film gets close enough to read every expression and gesture you would never catch in the field. Warm without turning sugary, it works for a family night where the drama is real and the ending stays honest. Stream Chimpanzee (2012) online on iFILM.
