Synopsis
Beautiful Lies (De vrais mensonges, 2010) is a French romantic comedy from director Pierre Salvadori, ready to watch online on iFILM. Émilie runs a beauty salon and one day finds an anonymous love letter meant for her.
The note is too tender to toss out and too embarrassing to answer. So Émilie hatches a plan: she passes it on to her mother, who has been stuck in a deep slump since her husband walked out. The trick works almost too well — her mother comes back to life, waits by the mailbox and falls for a stranger. Now Émilie has to keep ghostwriting the letters and find a real man willing to play the secret admirer.
Salvadori spins the whole thing into a comedy of good intentions gone sideways, with feelings the heroine refuses to see right under her nose. Audrey Tautou plays Émilie, Nathalie Baye is her mother, and Sami Bouajila is the salon employee whose letter set it all off.
