Becoming

Becoming (2020) is an American horror-thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Alex and Lisa are engaged and driving across the country to see family. The easy road-trip mood snaps in a single night: something takes hold of Alex, and the man Lisa loves starts vanishing right in front of her.

What moves into him is old — a dark force older than the country itself, slipping from body to body for centuries and leaving butchered families in its wake. At first Alex just turns cold toward his fiancée; then a hatred that isn't his own boils up inside. Lisa won't run. She tries to work out what has hijacked him and reach whatever scrap of Alex is still in there. Toby Kebbell plays that slow erasure of a personality, while Penelope Mitchell anchors the film with desperation and stubborn loyalty.

Director Omar Naim builds the dread less on jump scares than on one simple, awful idea: someone you love becoming a stranger as you watch, with no clear line where saving them stops being possible.
