Housing Complex C (Season 1)

Housing Complex C (2022) is a short horror anime best watched online late and alone. It unfolds in the seaside town of Kurosaki, inside a cheap apartment block where a quiet girl named Kimi lives — and where misfortune seems to trail her down every hallway.

At first it reads like a run of bad luck. Then things start happening that no streak of luck explains: neighbors turn strange, and something old and hungry stirs in the corridors. The real question is whether Kimi is simply cursed with rotten timing or whether an ancient evil has settled under the roof of Complex C.

Directed by Yuji Nara, with Ayahi Takagaki voicing Kimi, the series came out of a collaboration between Japan and America's Adult Swim — and it shows.
