Synopsis
Mysterious Girlfriend X (2012) is a Japanese romance anime you can watch online on iFILM. High schooler Akira Tsubaki does something strange on a whim — he tastes a drop of drool left on the desk by Mikoto Urabe, the quiet new transfer student. The next morning he collapses with a fever no doctor can name.
The cure arrives when Urabe shows up at his door and lets him taste her saliva again. The diagnosis: lovesickness. Her drool carries emotions straight into him, and from then on the two are tied together. Urabe naps instead of eating lunch, keeps her distance from classmates, and pulls scissors at the first hint of trouble — yet Akira wants what they have to grow into real feeling, not just a physical link.
Directed by Ayumu Watanabe from Riichi Ueshiba's manga, with Miyu Irino and Yuki Kaji voicing the leads, the show is a soft, faintly surreal take on teenage first love.
