A phone-sex hotline call from the school's phone opens the season with a formal investigation. Ted starts a reckless affair with a married woman next door. Getting weed requires completing a full Dungeons & Dragons campaign run by the dealer. Blaire discovers she's pregnant and the family fractures along predictable lines. Susan takes the legal fall when police find marijuana in the car during a traffic stop. Then Ted and John construct a fake newspaper to shield Matty from the O.J. Simpson verdict. Season two lingers longer on consequence than the first did, and the show is better for it.
