A diplomatic pouch hidden inside the wall of Arlo's house kicks off a thirty-year-old mystery. The name on the ID is Drew Thompson — a man Harlan buried in memory long ago. Raylan traces the trail from the Dixie Mafia through hill-country clans and up to the Detroit mob, while the thread keeps circling back to his father's dealings and his own childhood. Boyd Crowder is hunting the same ghost from the other side of the law, watching his grip on the county loosen with every episode. The arc is tighter than any previous season — fewer detours, higher personal stakes.
