Synopsis
Larry Crowne (2011) — watch online a quietly warm comedy-drama written, directed by and starring Tom Hanks, alongside Julia Roberts. It is a small film by big-name standards, and that is exactly its appeal.
Larry Crowne spent nearly two decades as a model employee at a big-box retailer, decorated Navy veteran, always cheerful on the floor. Then one morning the company lets him go: no college degree, no path forward. Facing a mortgage and a blank calendar, he enrolls at the local community college. The campus is full of misfits who ride around on scooters and take life sideways. His speech class teacher, Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), has stopped caring about the job — and, frankly, about her marriage to a man who writes bad blogs for a living.
The movie earns its lightness honestly. Rami Malek, Bryan Cranston and George Takei fill out the supporting cast with obvious enjoyment. It is the kind of film that does not announce its intentions: it just follows a decent man figuring out what comes next. Watch Larry Crowne (2011) online on iFILM.
