Synopsis
The Divine Move (2014) is a Korean crime-action revenge thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Professional Go player Tae-seok sits down across the board from a notorious cheat nicknamed Sal-soo, and the high-stakes match ends with his brother dead. Framed for the killing, Tae-seok is sent to prison for seven years.
Out on release, he pulls together a ragtag crew — a blind Go master, an ex-enforcer, a small-time hustler — and sets a simple, merciless plan in motion: reach Sal-soo by picking off his men one at a time. The clever twist is that Go here isn't a quiet pastime but a deadly trade; losing a game doesn't cost you points, it costs you a beating, a blade, or worse. Every "match" detonates into a brutal fight in basements and underground parlors.
Director Cho Beom-gu fuses a classic vengeance story with the tension of a battle of wits, and Jung Woo-sung (The Good, the Bad, the Weird) carries the lead. A sleek, grim and surprisingly violent action picture for fans of Korean revenge cinema. Stream The Divine Move (2014) online on iFILM.
