Synopsis
Seasons (Les Saisons, 2016) is a French nature documentary you can watch online on iFILM, co-directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud — the team behind Winged Migration and Océans.
They came ashore this time. The camera goes back 20,000 years, to a Europe where humans and brown bears crossed the same valleys, wolves had never encountered a fence, and wild horses grazed fields that would take millennia to become farmland. The film tracks the continent's transformation from ice-age stillness through the rise of vast primeval forests to the slow encroachment of seasons and human settlement. Each of the four chapters — spring, summer, autumn, winter — is built around the creatures that live by its rules.
It's a quiet film. Closer to observation than spectacle; it rewards patience. Stream Seasons (2016) online on iFILM.
