THE NEW GATE (2024) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Shinkou Shotou's light novel of the same name. The premise begins at the moment most isekai stories end.

Shin is the strongest player in a VRMMO that turned deadly — disconnect, and you die for real. He clears the final boss solo and frees every trapped player. Then, without warning, he is pulled five hundred years into the future of that same world, which has since become reality. His abilities are still at max level. His name has become mythology. Nobody alive has any idea who he actually is.

Produced by studio MOTHER, the series inverts the usual newcomer-in-a-strange-world formula. Shin does not need to learn the rules — he wrote them, then disappeared before anyone could confirm he existed.
