Synopsis
La Palma (2024) is a Norwegian drama series you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Kasper Barfoed. A family from Norway arrives on the Spanish island of La Palma for a holiday. At the same time, a young volcanologist starts reading her instruments and doesn't like what they're telling her.
The seismic data climbs. Officials stall. Anders Baasmo Christiansen and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal play the tourists whose vacation shifts into something else entirely, while Tea Sophie Loch Næss's researcher tries to push the right people toward an evacuation decision before the window closes. The two storylines converge as the volcano stops giving anyone time to deliberate.
The series was shot on location on La Palma — the same island where the Cumbre Vieja volcano actually erupted in 2021 — and that real backdrop gives the disaster scenario a grounded texture that CGI-heavy productions rarely manage.
