Ingrid Pitt plays both halves of the woman — the withered widow and the radiant beauty she becomes after each bloody bath. The fix never lasts. As the cravings come faster, she poses as her own daughter, takes a young lover, and lets the killing creep closer to home. The script borrows loosely from the legend of Elizabeth Báthory.
