Synopsis
Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 (2022) is a feature-length anime you can watch online on iFILM with the whole family. It's summer vacation when Nobita stumbles on a tiny rocket carrying Papi — the palm-sized president of planet Pirika, on the run from a military coup back home.
To save their new friend, Nobita, Doraemon and the gang shrink down to his size and travel to distant Pirika to fight the rebel army. On the kids' side are Doraemon's gadgets from the future; against them stands a real dictatorship backed by combat robots. It sounds like child's play, yet the film speaks plainly about freedom, courage and what it means to be small against overwhelming force. Director Susumu Yamaguchi remakes the classic 1985 movie in clean modern animation.
Wasabi Mizuta voices Doraemon once again. This is a solid entry in Japan's most beloved franchise — gentle, warm, and carrying a surprisingly grown-up message under its adventure packaging.
