Synopsis
Pippi Longstocking (Pippi Långstrump, 1969) Season 1 — watch online on iFILM: thirteen episodes of Swedish family comedy that turned Inger Nilsson into a childhood icon across a generation of European viewers. Pippi arrives at dilapidated Villa Villekulla with a suitcase of gold coins, a horse on the porch, and a monkey named Mr. Nilsson — and no adults to answer to.
Season one follows her first year in the little town: kite expeditions with neighbours Tommy and Annika, repeated run-ins with bumbling thieves after her gold, a showdown with the so-called world's strongest man at the funfair, and a Christmas standoff when well-meaning Miss Prysselius tries to ship Pippi off to an orphanage. Based on Astrid Lindgren's books, this 1969 production remains the definitive screen version of the character. Stream Pippi Longstocking Season 1 online on iFILM.
