Synopsis

The film ties Anne's life to five women who survived as girls what she did not. Arianna Szörenyi, Sara Lichtsztejn-Montard, Helga Weiss and the sisters Andra and Tatiana Bucci tell the parts Anne never got to write: the cattle cars, the marches through the cold, the barracks. Their accounts pass on to children and grandchildren, the memory carried forward through family lines.
A separate thread follows a young woman traveling sites of remembrance with a diary and a phone, pulling the past into the present. It leans on faces and plain testimony rather than swelling narration, and it speaks to teenagers in their own register.
