Synopsis
Lazarus (2025), Season 1 is a sci-fi action anime you can watch online on iFILM — thirteen episodes set in 2052, where a miracle drug called Hapna turns out to be a delayed death sentence for the whole planet.
Its Nobel-winning creator, Skinner, has vanished, and humanity has roughly three years left. A special unit nicknamed Lazarus is pulled together to track him down and engineer a cure in time, and they recruit Axel, a habitual jailbreaker yanked straight out of his cell. The season runs the team across the globe: a lead in Istanbul, a club owned by a stockbroker who got rich off Hapna, slippery hackers like Dr. 909 and Popcorn Wizard, an Arctic oil rig. The closer they get to Skinner, the more it looks like the Pentagon and their own brass are running a separate game.
The show comes from Shinichiro Watanabe, the mind behind Cowboy Bebop, with fight scenes choreographed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski — hence the snappy chase-and-brawl cuts riding a dense jazz-funk score.
