Synopsis
Husband for Rent (Marido en Alquiler, 2013) is a Latin American telenovela you can watch online on iFILM — every episode of a woman holding her family together alone. When Griselda's husband vanishes at sea, she has to carry everything herself.
She reinvents herself as a handywoman, fixing, painting and repairing without any shame about honest work or her own values. One of her sons starts dating the daughter of Teresa Cristina — a wealthy, haughty woman who treats marrying into a poor laundress's family as a disgrace, and never misses a chance to humiliate Griselda, even as her husband keeps scolding her for it. Then a lottery ticket bought out of sheer habit changes the math.
