Synopsis
María la del Barrio (1995) is a Mexican telenovela you can watch online on iFILM. After her godmother dies, a priest places poor María Hernández, a girl from the Mexico City slums, as a maid in a wealthy household.
Inside Fernando's mansion, the girl from the barrio meets his son Luis — spoiled and used to doing exactly as he pleases. Their growing closeness enrages everyone who had eyes on that place and that money. The fiercest threat is Soraya Montenegro, who will whip up any scandal to wreck someone else's happiness. María has to fight for her love and for her own dignity.
This is the final chapter of Thalía's "Marías" trilogy; directors Marta Luna and Beatriz Sheridan delivered a genre classic, and Itatí Cantoral's scenes as Soraya have long been chopped into memes the world over.
