Epic

Epic (2013) is a family animated fantasy adventure from Blue Sky Studios that you can watch online on iFILM. Director Chris Wedge drops the audience into a forest where a war rages beneath the grass, far too small for human eyes to catch.

Teenager Mary Katherine moves in with her father, an eccentric professor who has spent years insisting tiny people live in the woods. She thinks he's lost it. Then she shrinks down to their size and lands in the middle of the Leafmen's fight to keep the forest alive. The voice cast brings together Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, Christoph Waltz and Josh Hutcherson, with musicians Beyoncé, Steven Tyler and Pitbull rounding out the roster.

The movie adapts William Joyce's children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs. Its best trick is scale: a dewdrop as big as a person, a ride on the back of a hummingbird, a single human second stretching into an age for the forest folk. Stream Epic (2013) online on iFILM.
