Synopsis
Antisocial (2013) is a Canadian horror-thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Cody Calahan traps five university friends inside a New Year's Eve party that curdles into a siege.
The group plans to see in the new year at a house party, unaware that an outbreak has already torn loose beyond the front door — a fast-moving virus driving people insane, with reports flooding in from around the globe. Barricaded inside, they fall back on the only window left to them: the screens of their phones and laptops. Their feeds overflow with footage of the chaos, and the deeper they dig, the more the source of the sickness seems tied to the very devices keeping them connected. Fear inside the house tips into paranoia fast. Who's still safe when the people next to you start to crack?
Its hook — a zombie-style plague spreading through a social network — felt sharp and timely back in 2013. The budget is small, but the mood stays anxious and the ending pulls no punches. A solid pick for fans of lean indie horror with a paranoid streak about our screens. Stream Antisocial (2013) online on iFILM.
