Synopsis
Pride (2004) is a British wildlife film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by John Downer — the filmmaker behind several BBC spy-in-the-animal-world documentaries — shot over four years in the African savannah and voiced by an exceptional British ensemble: Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Sean Bean, Martin Freeman, Jim Broadbent, Robbie Coltrane, John Hurt, and Rupert Graves.
The film follows two lion cubs, Suki and her brother, who stray too far from their mother during a rival pride's attack and must find their way back across open country alone. Running alongside that story is the older lions' struggle with territory, loyalty and the arithmetic of survival. Downer shapes real wildlife footage into something that moves like drama rather than narration.
The cast does not simply read lines — they inhabit the animals, which makes the difference between a nature programme and a film. For families it is an absorbing adventure; for anyone willing to watch lions doing lion things, it is quietly compelling. Stream Pride online on iFILM.
