Synopsis

Incantation (2022) is a Taiwanese horror you can watch online on iFILM. Six years ago, video blogger Ronan and two friends broke a local taboo inside a forbidden tunnel. Ever since, a curse has been working its way through everyone she loves.

Built as found footage, the film keeps breaking the fourth wall: Ronan speaks straight to camera, begging viewers to memorize a symbol and chant a phrase along with her. Her parents are dead, her daughter spent years in care, and now that she has brought the girl home, the same marks are surfacing on the child. Director Kevin Ko drew on the real case of a family convinced they were possessed. One of Taiwan's highest-earning horror films, it is grim, oppressive and not for the squeamish.
