First the pair takes on a gene-modified Zmey Gorynych, then a gang of house spirits making people's lives hell, and finally Viy himself claws up from underground with a plan to seize control of everything. A second, quieter thread runs alongside the monster-hunting: Katya tries to break Sergius of his worst habits while he tries to get past her guard. The format grew up — instead of a scatter of short cases, three big confrontations.
