Babylon

Several lives collide at one wild party in a producer's mansion. Nelly LaRoy (Margot Robbie) claws her way toward stardom with no brakes and no rules. Manny Torres (Diego Calva) starts as hired help but dreams of making movies. Aging idol Jack Conrad (Brad Pitt) still owns the screen, until sound arrives and wipes out everyone too slow to adapt. Careers rise and burn in the space of a single take.

Across three hours, Chazelle paints the dream factory in equal parts filth and glory: cinematography by Linus Sandgren, a brass-heavy score from Justin Hurwitz, and a finale that tears down the wall between the audience and the projector.
