It is 1943. The Allies mean to land on Sicily, but if the Germans see it coming the beaches will become a slaughter. So a small London team hatches a scheme that sounds insane on paper: find an unclaimed body, dress it as a Royal Marine officer, stuff its pockets with forged letters pointing to Greece instead, and float the corpse toward the Spanish coast where enemy agents are sure to fish it out. To sell the lie, they invent a whole life for the dead man, down to a sweetheart and a name.
