The Mountain

"The Mountain" (Dağ, 2012) is a Turkish military survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Alper Çağlar puts two soldiers in the middle of a mountain ambush in winter — and then strips away everything except the two of them.

Bekir is a veteran soldier, years of service behind him. Oguz is a history student who signed up for a two-month stint and ended up somewhere he never imagined. Their squad is gone. What remains: a frozen slope, dwindling ammunition, and each other — two men with nothing in common and no option but to rely on the other's judgment. Çağlar Ertuğrul and Ufuk Bayraktar play them straight, no melodrama.
