Synopsis
L Storm (2018) is a Hong Kong crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM — the fourth film in director Herman Yau's Storm series, each built around a fresh corruption case handled by the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
ICAC investigator William Luk (Louis Koo) and financial intelligence detective Lau Po-keung (Julian Cheung) are each stuck on dead-end cases when a complaint lands: someone accuses Luk himself of pocketing a twelve-million-dollar bribe. He is suspended. Lau starts digging and finds the frame-up connects to a corrupt official at the vice-ministerial level across the border. The film runs at genre speed — efficient rather than deep, which is what the series has always been.
