Synopsis
Chasing the Dragon (追龍, 2017) is a Hong Kong crime epic with Donnie Yen and Andy Lau, ready to watch online on iFILM. A penniless smuggler crosses from the mainland into British-run Hong Kong in 1963 and claws his way up to become the kingpin of Kowloon's drug trade.
Donnie Yen takes on Crippled Ho, a brawler who limps into the city with nothing and ends up owning the opium routes that feed it. Andy Lau is Lee Rock, the bent detective skimming a cut from every den in the colony. Their pact runs on cash and mutual cover right up to the day the British move to crush them both. Smoke drifts through the alleys of the Walled City, bones snap, and every rung Ho climbs is paid for in someone's blood.
Directors Wong Jing and Jason Kwan drew on real Hong Kong underworld figures from the era — a gangster nicknamed Crippled Ho and the most notoriously crooked cop on the force. This is no quiet character study; it's a big, swaggering gangster saga shot in lush color, with brutal fights and two veteran stars trading off pure screen charisma. Fans of Scarface and grimy Asian crime cinema will eat it up. Stream Chasing the Dragon (2017) online on iFILM.
