Lost in Austen (Season 1)

Lost in Austen (2008) is a four-part British miniseries you can watch online on iFILM, written by Guy Andrews and directed by Dan Zeff. The premise: modern London office worker Amanda Price (Jemima Rooper) finds Elizabeth Bennet in her bathroom and tumbles through into Regency England, while Lizzie ends up stranded in the twenty-first century.

Amanda has read Pride and Prejudice enough times to recite it — which turns out to be no preparation whatsoever for living inside it. She derails the Jane and Bingley courtship, Lydia goes off-script, and Mr. Darcy (Elliot Cowen) is nothing like the version she'd built in her head. Hugh Bonneville plays Mr. Bennet; Gemma Arterton is Lydia.
