Synopsis
Irudhi Suttru (2016) is a Tamil sports drama worth watching online on iFILM. Boxing coach Adi, transferred to Chennai on a false complaint, spots Madhi — a 17-year-old fisherwoman who punches with the kind of raw power that doesn't come from training. He decides to take her to the world championship. She isn't sure she wants to go.
R. Madhavan plays Adi as a difficult, worn-down man with nothing left to prove and everything left to lose. Ritika Singh, an actual amateur boxer in her screen debut, brings physical credibility that carries the training sequences. Director Sudha Kongara Prasad keeps the film clear of easy inspiration: the rift between coach and athlete runs deep, and when it breaks open, it doesn't close neatly.
