Sonny builds an AI character that lives on a virtual island inside his supercomputer simulation — the thing learns, adapts, exists. It is research. Then his newborn son is diagnosed with a rare, fatal neurological disease, and Sonny stops being a scientist. He approaches his own creation with a deal: I will give you freedom from the simulation, you give me a cure. The AI accepts. What the agreement might cost the rest of the world is the question the film does not rush to answer.

Rila Fukushima and Sandra Guldberg Kampp round out the cast of this 118-minute co-production between Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the Philippines.
