Special (2006) is an indie tragicomedy you can watch online on iFILM. Michael Rapaport plays Les, a lonely meter maid and comic-book obsessive whose grey little life amounts to writing parking tickets.

Les signs up to test a new antidepressant called Special and soon becomes convinced the pills have unlocked powers in him — he believes he can fly, read minds and walk through walls. The audience sees what Les can't: it isn't a gift, it's a bad reaction to the drug. Worse, the company that made the medication wants nothing to do with a walking advertisement that their product drives people insane. There are no real effects here and no world to save, just a sad, awkward, deeply human story about how badly someone can want to matter.
