Synopsis
Boy Erased (2018) is a drama you can watch online on iFILM. Lucas Hedges plays Jared, nineteen years old, the son of a Baptist pastor in small-town America, handed a choice: enter a conversion therapy program or lose his family for good.
The program is run by therapist Victor Sykes, played by Joel Edgerton — who also wrote and directed the film. Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe play Jared's parents: not villains, just people whose love is tangled up in fear and community pressure. Inside the program, the other participants carry stories just as jagged as Jared's. Troye Sivan and Xavier Dolan, both openly gay, take supporting roles — a casting choice that adds a quiet, unspoken layer. The screenplay adapts Garrard Conley's memoir of the same name, drawn from his own experience.
