Synopsis
Utopia (2020), Season 1 is Amazon's conspiracy thriller you can watch online on iFILM — eight episodes adapted by Gillian Flynn from the cult British series.
The hook is mean and simple. A handful of fans who met online chase down a rare underground comic called Utopia, and the second they have it, a shadowy organization wants them dead. Hidden in the artwork are coming catastrophes, among them a lethal flu already spreading across the country. Then Jessica Hyde walks in — a young woman who seems to have stepped straight out of the comic's pages. The season hurls these misfits from basements and motels into a live outbreak, forcing them to decide who can be trusted.
Flynn keeps the register pitch-black: cruel, absurd, genuinely uncomfortable in spots. John Cusack and Rainn Wilson anchor the grown-up side of the plot. Not one for the squeamish, but a treat if you like paranoia and sharp turns. Stream Utopia Season 1 online on iFILM.
