Synopsis

A German documentary crew travels to a remote village in northeastern Turkey to film an elderly Kurdish woman performing an ancient ritual — her private way of keeping her lost son's memory alive. Their translator Leila also looks after seven-year-old Melek, a girl troubled by strange visions. Melek's father is tied to a shadowy organization whose purpose is never made explicit, which is exactly the point. Polat layers grief, paranoia, and generational trauma until they collapse inward.
