Synopsis
"König Drosselbart" (King Thrushbeard, 2008) — watch online this German family TV film directed by Sibylle Tafel, adapted from the Brothers Grimm tale. Princess Isabella, played by Jasmin Schwiers, is beautiful and knows it. She rejects every suitor her father presents, saving her sharpest mockery for Prince Richard, played by Ken Duken, whom she nicknames "King Thrushbeard" after the shape of his beard. He leaves. She is pleased with herself.
Her father has had enough. He decrees that the next man through the castle gate — beggar, soldier, or otherwise — will be her husband. Isabella is about to find out what life looks like when charm and rank stop working as shields.
