Synopsis
Corners of the Earth: Kamchatka (2023) is an Australian documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Pro surfers Letty Mortensen and Fraser Dovell spent two years planning a trip to the remote Kamchatka Peninsula in far eastern Russia. Then Russia invaded Ukraine an hour before their scheduled Moscow flight. They got on the plane anyway.
On the ground, they linked up with Anton Morozov — Olympic torchbearer and the man who brought surfing to Kamchatka — and Maksim Balakhovsky, a freeride legend running heli-ski operations through volcanic terrain. The peninsula delivered: waves almost nobody had ridden and coastlines almost nobody had seen.
