Synopsis

Father Filippo arrives in the Dutch province of Limburg on a Vatican assignment: get in, debunk a weeping Madonna statue, get out. He comes equipped with doubt and a bureaucrat's confidence. The village, however, declines to cooperate — odd things keep happening, witnesses don't fit the model, and a mute young woman begins quietly dismantling whatever certainty he brought along. The investigation he planned turns into something he did not plan for.
