Synopsis

The merchant Stavr Godinovich is thrown into the Kievan prince's dungeon. Force won't free him, so his wife Vassilissa takes the matter into her own hands. She puts on a disguise, arrives at court unrecognized and beats the prince with his own weapons: wit, nerve and a cool head. Anna Kamenkova, Anatoly Vasilyev and Vladimir Basov voice the characters, with Roman Davydov directing.
