Synopsis
Living in Two Worlds (2024) is a Japanese drama you can watch online on iFILM. Dai is the only hearing member of his family, raised in a small port town in Miyagi by parents who are both deaf. From childhood he's their voice and their ears, translating the spoken world they can't hear.
Standing between two realities is a gift and a burden at once. As he grows up, Dai leaves for Tokyo to build a life of his own, but the pull of home and the guilt of leaving never quite let go. The film moves patiently through his coming of age — sign language, awkward teenage friction, a love for his parents that words don't reach. Ryo Yoshizawa takes the lead role under director Mipo O.
This is quiet cinema about family and identity, handled with real care for the CODA experience of children with deaf parents. A good fit for anyone who values honest Japanese drama that never reaches for melodrama. Stream Living in Two Worlds (2024) online on iFILM.
