Synopsis

Nellie, Daisy and Lou close ranks against rules designed to wear them down quietly. Their friendship is the one thing holding them upright, and the one thing the institution means to take away. The matron spots that bond fast and sets about prying the girls apart. This is no postcard New Zealand: under the polite talk of "correction" sits real cruelty aimed at the indigenous and the inconvenient.
