Synopsis
The Night of the Cursed Reatrei (2024) is a Cambodian horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Co-directed by Leak Lyda and Diep Sela, it stars Jenna Norodom alongside Paing Takhon and Tharoth Sam.
A young caretaker takes a job at an abandoned orphanage and brings her little sister along. The place is rotten with history: ten years ago children died inside these walls, and the matron who ran it was blamed for their deaths. Her vengeful spirit, Reatrei, still lingers, and so do the small ghosts she's accused of killing. As tragedy stacks on tragedy, the sisters have to piece the old night back together to survive it.
Only by working the ritual do they learn what the curse really wants, and who it's circling. This is a rare one for our catalogue: Southeast Asian folk horror wired into a detective thread and local lore about revenge, where the dread does more work than the jump scares.
