The year is 1913. Roosevelt, played by Aidan Quinn, has just lost the White House race and agrees to lead a scientific mission into unmapped jungle. He and Rondon — portrayed by Chico Díaz — are tasked with charting a river known only by a local nickname: the River of Doubt. The expedition became one of the most dangerous journeys in exploration history; the river was later renamed in Roosevelt's honor.
