The Call (Vyzov, 2006) is a Russian detective series you can watch online on iFILM. In Moscow, General Pyotr Gerasimenko quietly assembles a special unit for the cases ordinary police write off as unsolvable.

Major Alexey Khromov runs the team. With him are Igor Lyamin, a green young lieutenant still learning the ropes, and forensic expert Olga Barysheva, who reads a crime scene like print. The files that land on their desks are the strange ones — killings where something behind the evidence refuses to fit any report. They travel the whole country, from forgotten villages to regional capitals, and keep colliding with the inexplicable.

Dmitry Nazarov, Alexey Shutov and Anastasia Zadorozhnaya lead the cast. The show pairs procedural detective work with a creeping, almost supernatural chill — closer to a Russian X-Files than to a by-the-numbers crime drama.
