Synopsis
Strike (2017) is a BBC crime drama series you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from J.K. Rowling's novels published under the pen name Robert Galbraith. Tom Burke plays Cormoran Strike, a one-legged Afghan war veteran scraping by as a private detective in a cramped Denmark Street office. Holliday Grainger co-stars as Robin Ellacott, his secretary who turns out to be far more than a secretary.
Each season adapts one novel — The Cuckoo's Calling, The Silkworm, Career of Evil — as a self-contained three-part miniseries. Strike's cases attract the kind of clients the Met can't or won't help: a supermodel found dead in suspicious circumstances, a sadistic killer taunting him through old songs, a publisher discovered in a state that makes even hardened detectives flinch. His military intelligence background gives him a read on people that no amount of police procedure can replicate.
