The Gryphon (Der Greif, 2023), Season 1 is a German dark-fantasy drama you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes that open on Mark's sixteenth birthday with a secret his family kept for a reason.
His older brother Thomas hands him the Chronicle of the Black Tower, then vanishes into the parallel world the book describes, a place ruled by a creature called the Gryphon. Mark wants no part of being the chosen one. Then his friend Memo disappears across the divide too, his mother moves to have him committed, and classmate Becky digs into his past and turns up something she can't explain away. The season slowly tightens the knot between ordinary Krefeld and the Tower.

Mark and Memo hatch out a plan to free Thomas. Becky doesn't suspect a thing. She is convinced that Mark is imagining everything. So is his mother, who wants him committed to a psychiatric ward. Will Mark manage to escape?
