Synopsis

The Gryphon (Der Greif, 2023) is a German dark-fantasy series you can watch online on iFILM. Sixteen-year-old Mark inherits a family curse: for generations his relatives have fought a malevolent force called the Gryphon, lurking in a parallel realm known as the Black Tower.

When the creature reaches into Mark's hometown and threatens everyone he loves, he has to shoulder that dangerous legacy and cross over into another world. What waits on the other side is bleak — scorched landscapes and beings eager to tear apart any intruder. Jeremias Meyer plays a teenager forced into a warrior's role far too soon, with Zoran Pingel and Lea Drinda beside him.

Adapted from a novel by German fantasy author Wolfgang Hohlbein, the show premiered on Amazon Prime Video. Directors Sebastian Marka and Max Zähle keep the tone closer to teen horror than fairy tale, and the mature rating isn't for show.
