Synopsis
A Time for Dancing (2002) is an American music drama you can watch online on iFILM. It follows two high school girls, Julia and Sam — inseparable friends who live for dance and dream of making it to a real stage.
That friendship faces its hardest test when one of them is diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly the dance studio, the rehearsals, the first wins and the plans for the future all slip into the background. The film tells it plainly, without melodrama: illness reshapes two close friends, one fighting for her life and the other learning how to stay close instead of looking away. Larisa Oleynik and Shiri Appleby star, with Peter Coyote, Shane West and a young Anton Yelchin filling out the cast.
Peter Gilbert directed, working from Davida Wills Hurwin's young-adult novel. It is a quiet coming-of-age story where dance becomes both a way to say what words can't and something to hold onto when everything falls apart. A good fit for viewers who like honest dramas about friendship and loss without the sugar. Stream A Time for Dancing (2002) online on iFILM.
